Rural King Online Scholarship
For Rural King employees or their dependents. Must demonstrate Rural King values, be full-time or part-time for online programs. Renewable with 2.5 GPA.
Criteria is as follows:
- Recipient(s) must be admitted to Eastern Illinois University.
- Recipient(s) must demonstrate alignment with Rural King values.
- Recipient(s) must have a filed a FAFSA or Illinois Alternative Application and have received an award letter at EIU.
- Recipient(s) must be an employee at Rural King at least 60 days.
- Recipient(s) must have an Adjusted Gross Income of less than $100,000.
- Recipient(s) must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an online program at Eastern Illinois University.
This award shall be announced in the Spring and disbursed in the following Fall and Spring.
More Details:
- This award is a last-dollar scholarship, meaning that it covers any tuition or fees (up to the estimated costs for 15 credit hours) remaining after other scholarships and awards have been applied.
- If your tuition and fees have been met with other scholarships, you may receive $2,000 for the remaining costs if you have room in your cost of attendance.
- Other limits may apply and there may be adjustments in your award after the time it was issued due to other changes to your award letter and/or costs. If you change your enrollment or wish to adjust your room and board plan, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships so that the most accurate award can be posted for you. Otherwise, your award(s) may be adjusted after census day each semester in which you receive this award.
- Students may be eligible to receive this award for the Summer terms up to a total of 4 years (8 semesters) if continuous enrollment in a minimum of 3 credit hours and 2.5 GPA is maintained.
Payment
Recipients of the Rural King Scholarships will have the estimated amount posted on their award letter based on the maximum allowable at the time of awarding. Final calculations of the recipient’s awards are posted after Count Day. The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will issue payments as soon as possible after the final adjustments are made to the costs & award letters after Count Day. As such, recipients may not expect their award to be final until after Count Day and may not expect the payment of the fund to take place until 2-3 weeks after Count day. It is the recipient’s responsibility to contact the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships if they anticipate any adjustments to their enrollment plan or housing and dining plan. The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will make adjustments to the estimated amount of the recipient’s award upon request.
