Richard and Kathy Hummel Scholarship
The following criteria must be met:
- Recipient (s) must be majoring in Sociology or Criminology and Criminal Justice and accepted to Eastern Illinois University.
- Recipient (s) must have at least 18 hrs. of Sociology or Criminology coursework completed or being completed during the semester the award is being made.
- Recipient (s) must have at least one semester full-time (12-semester hrs. minimum) to complete following receipt of the award.
- Recipient (s) must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 & a major GPA of at least 3.0.
- Recipient (s) must have demonstrated responsibility by working part-time as a matter of support or paying college expenses; and/or participating regularly in a service organization (university or community) or serving as a volunteer for community service or improvement.
- Recipient (s) must have demonstrated excellence in writing by submitting a quality research paper that was written for a Sociology or Criminology course and must submit a resume detailing their qualifications for the award.
The recipient(s) may be eligible to apply for and receive the award again provided he/she continues to meet the criteria stated above.
This award shall be announced in the Spring and disbursed in the Fall semester.
