Illinois Broadcasters Association Scholarship
For juniors/seniors in Journalism or Communication pursuing a broadcasting career. Requires 3.0 GPA. Work experience, need preferred.
Full description:
The following criteria must be met:
- The recipient must be a full-time junior or senior majoring in Communication Studies or Journalism who plans to pursue a career in broadcasting and is accepted, in good standing, to EIU.
- The recipient shall demonstrate talent, commitment, excellence, and professional ambition in broadcasting.
- The recipient must have a superior record of academic performance as evidenced by a grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
- The recipient shall be the top student (as determined by the scholarship selection committee) majoring in Communication Studies or Journalism with rising senior standing. If more than one outstanding student is considered qualified, preference shall be given to the student with demonstrated financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid, and/or work experience in broadcasting.
- This award is available to all students who meet the stated eligibility requirements regardless of age, race, or sex.
- The recipient(s) may be eligible to apply for and receive the award again provided he/she continues to meet the criteria stated above.
This award is announced in the Spring and paid the following fall semester.
