Dr. Bill and Lill Thiel Kinesiology and Sports Studies Scholarship

For KSR majors planning to teach HS or JHS physical education. Requires 3.0 GPA, essay. Preference given to disabled veterans.

Full description:
The following criteria must be met:

1. The recipient(s) must be a full-time student majoring in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation, accepted to Eastern Illinois University.
2. The recipient(s) must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.00.
3. The recipients must have a career plan to teach physical education at the junior or senior high school level.
4. Preference to be given to disabled veterans; otherwise to the best Kinesiology, Sports, and Recreation student as determined by the selection committee who meets the other listed criteria.
5. Financial need is not a consideration.
6. The recipient(s) may be eligible to apply for the award again provided he/she continues to meet the criteria stated herein.
7. The award(s) shall be announced in the Spring Semester and paid in the Fall Semester.
8. Recipient(s) may be eligible to apply for the award again provided he/she continues to meet the criteria stated above.

This award shall be announced in the Spring and paid in the Fall semester.
