For Journalism majors who have spent considerable time on staff at The Daily Eastern News, Warbler, etc. Requires 250-word essay.

Full description:
The following criteria must be met:

  1. The scholarship recipient shall be a full-time Eastern Illinois University student majoring in journalism in good academic standing.
  2. The recipient shall re-enroll for at least one semester beyond that one in which the award is made.
  3. The recipient shall have devoted considerable time and effort as a staff member of the University paper, yearbook, etc. for at least four semesters.
  4. The recipient shall have stated an intention to pursue a Journalism profession and explain in 250 words why they chose Journalism as a career.

Awards are typically announced in the Spring and disbursed in the Fall.
