Dorothy M. Hart Memorial Scholarship

For sophomores, juniors, and seniors in Physical Education. Requires 3.0 GPA, Department participation. Can be received 6 semesters.

Full description:
The following criteria must be met:

1. The recipient must be a full-time student majoring in Physical Education, accepted to Eastern Illinois University.
2. The recipient must be a sophomore, junior, or senior at the time the award is paid.
3. The must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
4. The recipient must be persistent in departmental activities such as Physical Education Major Club, Delta Psi Kappa. Recreational Sports in a leadership capacity, etc.
5. The recipient must be of good character, possess strong moral values, and who would seem to bring credit to EIU and the Physical Education profession.
6. If a transfer student, the recipient must have attended at least one semester at EIU in order to establish eligibility according to the criteria set up.
7. The recipient should not be receiving other significant aid such as Grant-In-Aid, athletic scholarships, etc.
8. The intent of this fund is that the award will be for tuition, fees, room, and board. More than one recipient may be selected provided that the earnings available are sufficient to cover tuition and fees and the additional recipient(s) can absorb the cost of room and board. When earnings are sufficient, the additional recipients shall receive room and board also.
9. The recipient shall continue to receive the award for a maximum of six semesters as long as the recipient continues to meet criteria and until graduation with the undergraduate degree. The recipient’s record will be evaluated each spring to ascertain eligibility.

This award shall be announced in the Spring and paid in the Fall and Spring semesters.
