Ray Padovan "Swim Early to Swim Fast" Swimming Athletic Scholarship

The following criteria must be met:
1. The recipient shall be a full-time student accepted to Eastern Illinois University. The student recipient must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
2. The recipient shall be academically and athletically eligible.
3. The scholarship shall be given to a student as an incentive to achieve success, and preference shall be given to a student who demonstrates the greatest potential for success in swimming.
4. The recipient shall receive $1,000, to be payable one-half in the Fall Semester and one-half in the Spring Semester. Once the endowment corpus has earned sufficient funding, additional scholarships in multiples of $500 may be awarded and more than one student may receive this award. Alternatively, the additional student(s) may be a student entering their first year of eligibility (as a continuing student or a transfer student) or entering their final year of eligibility (senior class status). In this case, the only requirement shall be that the student be in good academic standing and be athletically eligible.
5. Financial need shall be a consideration at the discretion of the Selection Committee. In the case of a tie with two students equally meeting the criteria, the scholarship shall be awarded to the student with the most demonstrated financial need.
6. The recipient(s) may receive the scholarship only once. The Ray Padovan “Swim Early to Swim Fast” Swimming Athletic Scholarship is intended to add an additional scholarship to the sport of swimming. As a privately funded endowment, this scholarship should not decrease the total scholarship availability to the sport of swimming at Eastern Illinois University.

This scholarship is awarded for fall and spring semesters.
