For outstanding freshmen in Theatre Arts. Requires 3 references, 4 short essays, resume, YouTube audition. Renewable for 4 years.

The EFA scholarship (in the form of tuition assistance) is awarded only to outstanding and promising incoming freshmen who declare a major in Theatre Arts and register for a minimum of 12 semester hours. It is renewable for the recipient’s entire four years, assuming he/she retains the theatre arts major and maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA overall and a 2.75 GPA in the department. EFAs are awarded to promising and dedicated students in one of the following areas: performance, technical/design, directing, generalist, history/literature or undecided. The award is paid in increments at the beginning of each semester. Please have a saved resume of theatre and work history and a headshot saved to upload to the application form.
At the interview/audition, performance applicants will present two one-minute monologues of contrasting nature along with 16 bars of music if they would like to include that talent. Those interested in the technical aspect of theatre should bring a portfolio with pictures and/or examples of work. Applicants should also be prepared to discuss their part in productions.
The following criteria must be met:
- The award recipient shall be an outstanding Freshman, majoring in Theatre Arts.
- The recipient must show a high personal performance and a high academic standing.
- The recipient may be a full-time or part-time student, or an in-state or out-of-state student.
- You may also use this application to apply for the renewal of your award if you continue to meet criteria.
This award is announced in the Spring and disbursed in the Fall and Spring
