Gene and Dee (Carpenter) McDivitt Accounting Scholarship

For incoming freshmen in Accounting, preferably from 1) Coles, Shelby, or 2) nearby counties. Requires 3.5 GPA/top 10%, essay, recommendation.

Full description:
Criteria for selection are as follows:

1. Must be a full-time student majoring in Accounting accepted to Eastern Illinois University.
2. The recipient must be an incoming freshman with a high school GPA equivalent to 3.5 out of a 4-point scale and/or in the top ten percent
   of class.
3. Preference shall be given to applicants who have graduated from a high school in Coles County or Shelby County, Illinois. If no
   applicants meet these criteria, graduates from high schools in contiguous counties (Christian, Clark, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar,
   Effingham, Fayette, Macon, Montgomery, or Moultrie Counties) may be the recipient(s).
4. Preference shall be given to students demonstrating leadership, public service/volunteer activities, and special talents.
5. Applicants shall submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor.
6. Financial need is not a consideration.

The award(s) shall be announced in the Spring and paid in the Fall Semester.
