Hope Brown Nelson Education Student Teaching Scholarship

For Elementary Education seniors, preferably from Mattoon HS, who are entering student teaching semester. Requires 3.0 GPA, essay.

Full description:
The following criteria must be met:

1. The recipient must be a full-time student majoring in Elementary Education accepted to Eastern Illinois University.
2. The recipient must be entering their student teaching semester.
3. The recipient must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.
4. Financial need is a consideration.
5. Preference shall be given to a student who has graduated from Mattoon High School. In the event that no student qualifies from Mattoon High School, the scholarship may be awarded to a student who has graduated from a high school within the state of Illinois.
6. Recipient(s) is required to submit a one-page description of goals for their student teaching semester as well as career goals.

Award may be announced in the Spring and awarded in the Fall semester.
