Carl P. Koerner Jr. Scholarship

Established by Jack and Bethina Schultz in memory of Carl P. Koerner Jr., who served as a member of the EIU Board of Trustees, the Koerner Scholarship advances the University’s mission of global citizenship. The award is presented annually to an academically talented international student in a degree program at Eastern Illinois University.
The following criteria must be met:
1. The recipient must be an international student accepted to Eastern Illinois University.
2. The recipient(s) may be eligible to apply for and receive the award again provided he/she continues to meet the criteria stated above.
3. Required essay: Describe a personal experience that highlights the importance of international education at Eastern Illinois University.
(400-500 words)

This award shall be announced in the Fall semester and paid the following Spring semester.
