Full description:
The following criteria must be met:
- The recipient(s) must be a full-time student accepted to EIU and hold class status of Junior or Senior.
- The recipient(s) must be a current member in good standing of the fraternity Sigma Pi.
- The recipient(s) must have a declared major in one of the departments within the College of Sciences or the College of Education and Professional Studies.
- The recipient(s) must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.5.
- The recipient(s) must demonstrate persistent participation in civic activities, with preference given to those students who are community service-oriented.
- The selection committee shall require an essay of the applicants. Special consideration shall be given to service and professional involvement, academic achievement, scholarship, and leadership.
- Financial need is a consideration.
Award announced in the Spring and paid in the Fall.
