Charles C. Shaw Scholarship

For incoming freshmen from Paxton or Mattoon. Priority given (in this order) to: 1) athletes; 2) Physical Education majors; 3) science majors.

Full description:
The following criteria must be met:

1. The recipient shall be a graduating Senior of good character and academic standing from Paxton High School or Mattoon High School who will be attending Eastern Illinois University.
2. Should a student from Paxton High School not be available and meet the criteria, the scholarship should be awarded to a student of good academic standing and character from Mattoon High School.
3. First priority shall be given to an athlete who will be attending Eastern Illinois University.
4. Should an athlete not be available to receive the award, then the award shall be granted to a Physical Education major attending Eastern Illinois University.
5. Should an athlete or Physical Education major not be available, then the award shall be granted to a student studying in Science at Eastern Illinois University.

This award is announced in the Spring and paid in the Fall semester.
