Flora Saxby Hawkes Memorial Scholarship in English

For juniors and seniors who are majoring in English. Requires a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Full description:
The following criteria must be met:

1. The Flora Saxby Hawkes Memorial Scholarship in English shall be awarded to students who have exhibited excellence in the classroom in the field of English.
2. The recipient(s) shall be accepted to Eastern Illinois University, shall have Junior or Senior class status, shall have an overall GPA greater than 3.0; and shall have a declared major in English.
3. The recipient(s) must be in good academic standing at the time of the award.
4. Financial need may be used as a determining factor in the case of two equally qualified students.

The recipient(s) shall be eligible to apply for, and receive, the award again provided they continue to meet the criteria stated above.

This award is announced and paid in the Spring.
