Isabel McKinney Graduate Scholarship

For graduate students in English. Requires nominations; top 25% class rank; paper on creative writing, or literary or historical criticism.

Full description:
The following criteria must be met:

1. The scholarship recipient shall be a graduate student in the field of English.
2. The recipient must secure nominations for the annual award from members of the English Department faculty, or by direct application to the said Scholarship Committee.
3. The recipient must be able to show evidence that he/she will be able to meet the qualifications for enrolling at EIU as a graduate student.
4. The recipient must have been in the upper 1/4 of his/her graduating class for the Bachelor’s Degree.
5. The recipient must author a written paper, the subject being either of creative writing, literary criticism, or historical criticism.
6. Financial need IS a consideration.

This award is announced in the Spring and disbursed in the Fall.
