Staff Partnership Scholarship
The Residence Hall Staff Experience
In the fall of 1975, five young men were given an opportunity to work together as residence hall staff members fn Douglas Hall. Each staff member brought a unique perspective based on individual values from modest family backgrounds. The variety of experiences gained through the residence hall programs stimulated a level of personal and professional development that fostered leadership skills and developed lifetime friendships that we all cherish.
The unique opportunity that was provided to each of us, created the foundation that supports many of the business practices that we individually represent today. While professional opportunities have taken us away from Eastern Illinois University our past involvement serves as a reminder of our appreciation for the EIU experience.
The Residence Life Program provided the means for each of us to complete educational goals and become involved in a profession that created a variety of opportunities in education and private business. As a result of our commitment to the University, it has become a priority to externally support the academic and professional endeavors of the Residence Life staff by creating the “Staff Partnership Scholarship”. This scholarship will hopefully support and encourage the involvement of future staff.
