Impact

Receiving the McNabb-Dow Graduate Scholarship is truly an honor. I am grateful for scholarships such as this that have allowed me to pursue degrees at the higher education level. I can confidently say that I would not be where I am today without the generosity of the individuals, families, and organizations that support continued education through the funding of scholarships and grants. The McNabb-Dow scholarship will alleviate some of my financial burdens such as fuel costs as a commuter student and program fees.

I am humbled and grateful to have received the McNabb-Dow Graduate Scholarship. Your generous contribution to my continued education is appreciated beyond words. Donors such as yourself make higher education attainable for students who might not have the opportunity otherwise. As I began the leap into college, my parents made it very clear to me that they would be unable to assist me financially during my journey towards becoming a registered dietitian. With that in mind, I took on a part-time job during my undergraduate studies and immediately began applying for financial aid and every scholarship that I met the qualifications for. It was during my undergraduate career that I learned that if I wanted to become a dietitian, I would need to complete a 1200-hour internship and a master’s degree would soon be required for my field. I was excited to expand my dietetics knowledge, but I knew that these opportunities would not be cheap. Once again, I diligently searched for scholarships and took on a graduate assistantship to help build my resume and cover my tuition and fees. All of this brings me to where I am today, expressing my gratitude to you and acknowledging how donors like you have changed my life. I can proudly say that I will enter my second semester of graduate school completely free of student debt. This would not have been possible without the assistance from scholarship funds, and I will never be able to convey how truly thankful I am. The McNabb-Dow scholarship is a blessing to me, and I am honored to be the spring 2019 recipient. Thank you for making higher education possible for students such as myself.
