Grant and Lynne Sterling Philosophy Fund

Established by Grant (‘85) and Lynne (’84) Sterling, proud graduates of Eastern Illinois University. Three generations of the Sterling family have graduated from EIU, including children Phillip (‘13,’18) and Alexander (‘16), as well as father and long-time EIU Professor of History, Dr. Robert Sterling (’51,’54 Honorary Doctorate ’09). Like his father, Grant enjoyed a rewarding career in the classroom having served as Professor of Philosophy for more than thirty years at his alma mater. By establishing this fund, Gran and Lynne seek to assist the Department of Philosophy and provide EIU students with a quality education.
