Frank and Irene Luce Wilson Scholarship

Established through the Marjorie W. Davis Trust in memory of her parents Frank and Irene Luce Wilson. Marjorie W. Davis was a 51’ graduate of EIU. Mrs. Davis taught English for 24 years, mainly at Stephen Decatur High School and at Champaign Central High School in Urbana. She held professional memberships in Delta Kappa gamma, Honorary for Women Educators, KAUW, and National Council of Teachers of English, for which she was state secretary for five years. She was a co-teacher leader for summer school travel studies to Europe for high school students. She was a member of Gibson City United Methodist Church, UMW, a former member of the Dix Unit of Homemakers Extension, and the Gutherie club. This scholarship is to be awarded to an EIU student with average or above-average academic achievement majoring in English, Journalism, or Speech Communication major.
