Esther Brothers Elmore Memorial Scholarship

Established by Ms. Jane Elmore (‘72) to honor the memory of her mother, Ms. Esther Brothers Elmore (’40). Ms. Jane Elmore and Ms. Esther Brothers Elmore are both alumni of the School of Family Consumer Sciences, Ms. Esther Brothers Elmore retired after many years of teaching in the Danville CUSD 118. She was a woman ahead of her time in many ways, she understood students with special needs and had a great sympathy for those with mental illness. She believed in gender equality, and wanted to help those she believed were trying to better themselves. Like her mother, Jane Elmore believes in education and is a strong advocate of diversity, gender equality, mental and behavioral health treatment, foster care and adoption from the child welfare system, and celebrates others with similar interests.
