Impact

As a Charleston resident, I knew I was destined to attend Eastern Illinois University. Growing up near the campus, I knew from day one EIU was the best university to prepare me for my future career.

Recieving the Daniel E. Marvin Jr WEIU Scholarship allows me to continue my studies at EIU, and it will allow me to further prepare myself for a career in broadcast journalism. This scholarship makes it financially possible for me to work at WEIU while studying at EIU.

I am so very thankful to receive this scholarship, as a full-time student at EIU and a reporter at WEIU it’s tough to have enough time to work a part-time job to pay for school and living expenses. This scholarship is so helpful, I’m very grateful to be the recipient.
